Nikita Hand has delivered a moving statement following the conclusion of her case against Conor McGregor, saying she spoke up to show her daughter justice can be served.
The jury at the High Court in Dublin found that the Irish fighter raped Ms Hand in a hotel in Dublin in 2018 and awarded her almost €250,000 in damages after the trial.
Ms Hand described the last two weeks as being a 'nightmare' but said that she hopes her story is 'a reminder that no matter how afraid you might be, speak up'.

Talking to journalists on Friday, Ms Hand said: 'I want to thank my daughter Freya, who I'm most grateful for. She has given me so much strength and courage over the last six years throughout this nightmare to keep on pushing forward for justice.
'I want to show Freya and every other girl and boy that you can stand up for yourself if something happens to you, no matter who the person is, and justice will be served.

'To all the victims of sexual assault. I hope my story is a reminder that no matter how afraid you might be, speak up. You have a voice and keep on fighting for justice.'
Ms Hand also thanked her partner Gary who 'held her hand' throughout the trial and her family and friends as well as everyone involved in her medical care.
She concluded: 'I know this has impacted not only my life, my daughter's, my family and friends tremendously, and it's something that I'll never forget for the rest of my life.
'But now that justice has been served, I can now try and move on and look forward to the future with my family and friends and daughter.'

McGregor was joined at court on Friday by his partner Dee Devlin and members of his family including his mum Margaret.
While the jury found that McGregor did assault Ms Hand, they found that his co-defendant James Lawrence did not assault her.
Ms Hand was awarded damages of almost €190,000, according to Extra.ie. Another €60,000 was awarded with total damages amounting to €248,603.60.
