Caroline and Victoria had a very close relationship with her mother often flying out to visit the actress in her American home.

In a very honest account, Victoria told Ryan how she told her mum not to hang on as she lay in hospital.

'I just kept saying to her don't fight it, it's ok. Up there you've got your mum, you got your dad, you've got your best friends, you've got.. I listed off all the dogs. You've got so many people up there waiting for you,' Victoria said.

Victoria told her mum: 'Just look up and just go be free of this body that's just let you down. Your overcoat has let you down, your spirit will always be. I'll look after people down here.'

Bringing a tear to Ryan's eye, the actress revealed that she said: 'Just go fly, go fly. And she did. She took her last breath in my arms.'

Victoria also touched on how time moves so fast and how you can be stunned in the moment after a loss.

She said: 'Within 20 minutes (of her mum's death), you're then sat on a curbside at 4.15 in the morning with a Tesco bag full of your mother's stuff and clothes and wondering what in the name of Jesus happened there because it was sort of 48 hours from stroke to gone.'

Victoria's podcast chat comes after she appeared on the Late Late Show in October and chatted about marriage, life and work.

She recently married her hubby Steve Jacobs and went on to discuss the success of her new Disney+ show Rivals, which is an adaptation of the famed namesake novel by Dame Jilly Cooper.
