The Emmy nominations are just out and The Bear has swept the board with a record-breaking 23 nominations.
The Hulu comedy series, which has already received huge critical acclaim, has set a new record for most nods for a comedy series.
The 76th Emmy Awards are set to take place on September 15 and with so many nominations, The Bear could easily win big on the night. Here's what to know about the series before then and if you haven't started watching it yet, maybe this is your sign!

Storyline
A talented young chef, Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto played by Jeremy Allen White, is forced to return to Chicago to run his family's Italian beef sandwich shop in the wake of his older brother Michael's suicide.
The rundown kitchen in the small family business is worlds away from the Michelin-star restaurants he's used to, and along with that he must grapple with obstinate staff, his brother's debts, and his own family trauma.

Cast
The Bear stars Jeremy as Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto in the lead role with Ayo Edebiri as Sydney Adamu, who joins the sandwich shop as a sous-chef.
Other kitchen staff includes Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richard 'Richie' Jerimovich, as well as Lionel Boyce as Marcus Brooks, and Liza Colón-Zayas as Tina Marrero. Meanwhile, Abby Elliott plays Natalie 'Sugar' Berzatto, Carmy and Michael's sister and the co-owner of The Beef.

Is there another season?
There have been three seasons of The Bear so far after season three was released on June 26. There is already a fourth season in the works and fans are hoping it'll be released in June 2025, like the previous three installments.
Emmy record
The Bear received a record-breaking number of Emmy nominations in 2024 - 23 in total.
Despite the show dealing with hard subjects such as grief, suicide, and addiction, it has been entered into the comedy category, which has sparked much debate as it's a less competitive category than drama.

However, The Bear's lead actor Jeremy has argued that there can be humour in the darker moments of life.
He told USA Today: 'I don't know if it's like knee-slapping funny. I think it can be at times. It's real, or we're trying to make it real, like real life. Sad things can be funny. Funny things can make you sad.'
